Harley-Davidson had an interesting display at the Long Beach CA show in December. To encourage non-riders to
learn how to ride, they strapped a Harley to what looked like a motorcycle treadmill to let new riders learn how
to engage the clutch and shift the gears. It sounded like someone was riding a Harley down the center isle of the
convention floor. It certainly attracted lots of attention. Luckily they had stock pipes so it wasn't too loud.
What a great idea!
Group Tours
MoverQuest has helped ship many bikes to or from a central staging area so that groups of bikers can
take a bike tour or motorcycle vacation. Here are some photos for a group that rode from Anchorage Alaska to
New Mexico. This all started with one request for how much it would be to ship a bike from NM to AK. This is where
I ask you to tell us at the time of your first request how many bikes you are shipping. It is painful to think
about how many times we will quote a one bike rate to somewhere and never hear back from the customer because
they assume that rate is to be multiplied by the number of bikes going.
This particular group ended up having us ship 16 bikes to Anchorage. And the multiple bike discounts
were HUGE. We helped plan this trip months in advance so nothing would go wrong. When 16 bikers
need to start their vacation on a specific day, they depend on us to make certain those bikes are in
Anchorage on the day required - and they were.
We were able to supply an exclusive truck and dedicated driver who loaded the bikes from one location in New Mexico and met the 16 riders at the designated drop off location in Anchorage 12 days later. We heard from the rider that put this together for the group that the 10 day bike ride from Anchorage to New Mexico was fantastic. He wrote to MoverQuest that the group ride racked up a total of more than
80,000 cumulative miles without an incident. That means no accidents, no breakdowns and no health
challenges. Success!
A single driver with his NICE Ducati truck delivered the motorcycle tour group to their Alaska starting point on time.
So let us know if we can help with your group motorcycle adventure. And as always...RIDE SAFE.
